ECS550 - i-Vu Systems and Open Controls
Class Description
Carrier will be introducing a new line of i-Vu Systems this year, complete with open DDC controls. Dealers/Contracts responsible for installation, maintenance and servicing of Carrier's i-Vu Systems Open control products can take this opportunity to get trained on the new product line. the new open product line features native BACCnet MS/TP controllers with plug-and-play connectivity to the Carrier i-Vu System. The Carrier i-Vu system combines state-of-the-art Carrier equipment, plug-and-play controllers, and the powerful, web-based i-Vu user interface. It will form a cohesive, intuitive, and fully-integrated BACnet Building Automation System. NOTE: Participants must bring a laptop computer (with a minimum of 1.6 gHz processor, 1 gb RAM, 500MB free disk space, DVD drive, USB port, Windows Vista or XP SP2 or higher, ActiveX and JAVA), and the ability to load new software.
- design, set-up, install, and start-up BACnet MS/TP networks
- create time schedules on RTU controller using Field Assistant
- develop trends using the Zone Controller
- develop and run alarm reports
- configure RTU for 2 stages of electric heat, 2 stages of cooling
- set-up of BACnet Time Master using Field assistant
- install Tech Tools on their machine (including Virtual BACView, BBMD Configuration Tool, BACScope, Application Loader, and Application Builder
- iSome of the products being reviewed include: i-Vu Open - the i-Vu Open web appliance is an extremely powerful Building Automation System in a box. It can be accessed from anywhere in the world using a standard web browser.
- VVT Zone Controllers - VVT Zone controllers are used to provide zone level temperature and air quality control for a variety of pressure-dependent VVT applications.
- VVT Bypass Controllers - Used to regulate the supply duct static pressure in VVT Systems.
- RTU Open Controllers - Allows control of constant volume rooftop units in VVT systems.
- WSHP Open Controllers - Allows control of water source heat pumps in WSHP systems.
- UC Open Controllers - Provide control of auxiliary devices including lights, fans, pumps and other HVAC equipment. Also provides loop control for WSHP systems.
- Space Sensors - Attractive low profile sensors available in four different configurations to meet your application needs.
A cumulative score of 70% is required to pass this course. The score is a combination of attendance, class participation, and a demonstration of skills and knowledge through quizzes and/or work sessions.
